Action

"A good plan executed now is better than a perfect plan next week.”

-General George S. Patton

During his 36 year US Army career Paton often had to make decisions with limited information and time. He led strongly without analysis paralysis and executed the best he could.

FAITH IN ACTION: If you have big gifts, do not act small. The February 20, 2022 Sermon from River Valley Church summarizes the requirement for action we have in faith and how to put our gifts into action.

  1. Use them

  2. Improve them (practice)

  3. Pray for them & Pray for increase

  4. Get around others who have the gifts that you need to improve

ACTION VS. INTENTION: Stephen Covey said that "We judge others by their actions, ourselves by our intentions" in his book Speed of Trust. Does this quote fit you?

Manage your perception of yourself. Do not allow yourself to be pleased with your own intentions but frustrated by others actions. Hold yourself accountable to actually make it happen!

ATTITUDE, APTITUDE & ACTION: Walker Deibel, author of Buy Then Build, suggests in his book that one can outsmart the entrepreneurship game by identifying your (1) Attitude (2) Aptitude and (3) Action (type of action you take) then selecting a business that fits those qualifications.

TOOL: Movement

Get moving. Action eliminates doubt! If you wait until you have a perfect map of all outcomes to start making a decision, the decision will no longer be relevant as it will have passed you by.

Want to apply this to your profession? Listen to how I try and do so in my May 2022 interview with ELECTRI. Comments on the subject start at minute 19.

Stay Productive.
